Activation | Q5, SQ5 GU Matrix LED

A little disappointed with your matrix LED headlights only acting like standard LED headlights? This package has the tools and software coupled with multiple remote sessions to activate the full matrix LED for your North American model to get the most out of your headlights. This only works with North American models that have factory fitted matrix LED headlights.  If you are unfamiliar with how matrix high beam functionality works please do watch the video below for more information.

Complexity Simplified - With progress comes complexity. Activating the matrix functionality on this newest generation of cars is a complex multi-stage multi-security level process which requires two remote appointments and production/engineering level access to the vehicle systems. However don't worry, all of the complexity is taken out of this process for the customer and the process is 100% safe for your car.

Activation Process - Order the product, setup your initial appointment, get your laptop ready with one small program and the first appointment will quickly be completed. Once the needed encrypted digitally signed data is ready for your car you will be contacted to scheduled your second and a final appointment. After that enjoy your amazing new lighting.

VAS Interface Purchase - In the event that a future dealership visit wipes the activation(s) this can be re-activated at no labor cost.  The VAS interface is required for re-activating after a dealership visit that removes this functionality so it can be beneficial to purchase that interface for easier future re-activation.

VAS Interface Rental - If you choose to rent the VAS interface a $300 deposit will be held as an authorization on your payment method until the interface is returned.  Once the interface is returned within 15 days from date of departure the $300 deposit will be voided without the need for a refund. Note that VAS rentals are only available within North America.

Signature Lighting (Canadian Models Only) - Canadian models are only equipped with 7 light signatures. This optional item will add the 8th light signature for your Canadian model.

European Taillight Functionality with Rear Fog Light(s) (Only for OLED Taillights) - Luckily North American taillights can have all of the European functions added in one simple package. This separates the turn signal and brake light for cleaner functionality plus adds in the rear fog light. Additionally when you select to add in the European Taillight Functionality you receive all of the following:

Rear Fog Light Package - Included with the European Taillight Functionality is the bumper mounted rear fog light(s) with wiring equipment. *Note that the rear fog light is required to be wired up to avoid bulb out errors when the European Taillight Functionality is enabled.

Proximity Lighting - When vehicles or objects are within two meters of the rear of the car all of the OLED segments will illuminate for added visibility.

Hazard Lighting - When the hazard lights are used the outer taillights produce a triangle shape along with the sweeping turn signals for added clarity.

Parking Indicator - When the automated parking system is activated the taillights produce an arrow to indicate the direction the car will parking towards.

Exit Warning System - When the car is stationary if any of the doors are opened while traffic or other users approach from the rear the taillight on the corresponding side of the car will produce the hazard triangle for additional safety.

*Note that a Windows, Mac or Android equipped laptop/device with a USB-A port or adapter to USB-A port is best for performing these activations. If activation must be performed with a Mac that does not have a Windows installation this can only be completed using the Mac compatible rental interface which may require additional steps for functionality. Activation requires a stable non-cellular wireless connection while the laptop is in your vehicle during the remote process.

*Note only the supplied interfaces can be used for this activation (VCDS, VCP, OBD11 or other diagnostic interfaces cannot be used).
